She then went on to attend Princeton University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1991.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Caplan enrolled in Harvard Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1994.

During her time at Harvard, she was a member of the Harvard Law Review and served as the Vice President of the Harvard Law School Democrats.

After completing her law degree, Caplan began her career as a lawyer, specializing in mergers and acquisitions.

She worked for several law firms in New York, including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

In 2000, she joined the law firm Kelley Drye & Warren, where she worked for seven years.

In 2007, Caplan left the legal field to pursue a career in philanthropy.

She joined the Robin Hood Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty in New York City.
