Arthur Clifford Michelmore CBE was an English television presenter and producer. He was born on 11 December 1919 and passed away on 16 March 2016.
He first gained widespread recognition as the host of the television program Tonight, which aired on the BBC from 1957 until 1965. In addition, he hosted the television coverage of the Apollo moon landings for the BBC, as well as the Aberfan catastrophe,
the general elections in the United Kingdom in 1966 and 1970, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales.In 1969, he was given the honorific title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
