The boyfriend of reality TV star Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, was arrested for DUI on Tuesday after leading police on a car chase with Alana in the vehicle.
According to Monroe County police, 21-year-old Dralin Carswell was driving his Dodge Charger with 17-year-old Alana as a passenger when police ran the tags and discovered that the vehicle’s owner had outstanding warrants. A police officer then attempted to stop the car, but Dralin evaded the officer and led them on a 3-mile chase before finally being stopped with a pit maneuver.
Officers found marijuana in the car, and Dralin was subsequently arrested for DUI and fleeing from police, as well as the outstanding warrants. Another passenger, Julian Malik Divon Williams, was also arrested for outstanding warrants.
Alana was not taken into custody and was later picked up by her sister, Pumpkin. It is unclear at this time why Alana was in the car with Dralin or what their relationship status is.
This is not the first time that Honey Boo Boo’s family has made headlines for legal trouble. In 2019, Alana’s mother, Mama June, and her boyfriend, Geno Doak, were arrested for drug possession.
As we previously reported, Alana and Dralin had planned to undergo weight loss surgery together last year, a decision that Mama June did not approve of.
