Ian Charles “Roscoe” Ross was an Australian television news presenter who worked for Seven News in Sydney and for Nine News. He was born on June 24, 1940, and passed away on April 30, 2014.

Ross, better known by his nickname “Roscoe,” kicked off his professional life in 1957 at the radio station 2GB in Sydney. In 1965, he moved back to Sydney and began working as a reporter for National Nine News.

Ross remained at Nine for the next 38 years, being most well-known for his time spent presenting the Today news program there.

In addition, he presented the National Nine News on a number of times there, standing in for other presenters who were absent due to illness or leave.

In 1997, Ross starred in the critically acclaimed Australian film The Castle playing the role of himself.
