Rodarius Marcell Green (born August 27, 1999) is an American musician and rapper who goes by the stage name Rod Wave. He is regarded as a pioneer of soul-trap because of his powerful voice and integration of hip hop and R&B.
The 2019 track “Heart on Ice,” which went viral on YouTube and TikTok and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, catapulted Wave to prominence. Wave’s debut album, Ghetto Gospel (2019), reached number ten on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

According to booking records from the Pinellas County Jail, St. Petersburg rapper Rod Wave has been arrested and charged with violence by strangulation. Green was arrested during a traffic stop at 5119 Venetian Boulevard NE on Sunday night,
according to his arrest affidavit from the St. Petersburg Police Department. He was traveling in the passenger seat of his own vehicle, a 2021 Grey Dodge Durango, and his driver’s license photo was used to identify him.
