Non-professional teachers in Ghana can now acquire a temporary license to teach by registering for the NTC Emergency License.
NTC Emergency License for Non-Professional Teachers
Private school teachers without a license are required to register and undergo training to receive this license.
All non-professional educators in private schools are encouraged to get the license as soon as possible.
Assistance for Teachers and Schools
Schools that employ non-professional teachers are encouraged to assist their teachers in acquiring the Emergency License to help them deliver on the job and meet the licensing requirements for educators in Ghana.
The National Teaching Council has urged the owners of private basic schools to fast-track the registration of their employees on the NTC’s portal.
Registration can be done by visiting the NTC Emergency License Details page for the full details.
This move is a fulfillment of the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 Act 1023 Section 80(1) to (5) which requires the registration of non-professional teachers.
The aim is to improve the professionalism of learning facilitators in private schools.
