Stephen Blais MPP (born July 20, 1980) is a Canadian politician serving as the member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Orléans as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party since February 27, 2020.
Prior to his election to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, he served as the Cumberland Ward councillor for the city of Ottawa. In the 2010 Ottawa municipal election,
he defeated incumbent Rob Jellett to win the ward. In the 2014 and 2018 local elections, he was re-elected.
Blais stated in October 2019 that he will seek the Liberal candidacy for the Orléans provincial constituency, which became empty when Marie-France Lalonde resigned to run for the federal Liberal Party.
On November 9, he was nominated. Blais won the by-election on February 27 with 55 percent of the vote, defeating his closest opponent,
Natalie Montgomery of the Progressive Conservative Party, by more than 8,000 votes. This is the largest majority in over 30 years in Orléans.
